Renss. County Recognizes 9/11 With Ceremony Planned for County Emergency Services Training Complex

Rensselaer County will recognize the events of September 11, 2001 and the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on our nation with a ceremony on September 11, 2026, County Executive Steve McLaughlin announced.

The county 9/11 ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. next Friday at the county's Emergency Services Training Complex on Macha Lane in North Greenbush. Macha Lane is located off Route 150.

The county 9/11 memorial at the ESTC includes a section of one of the towers that fell 25 years ago.

Speakers include County Executive McLaughlin, retired Troy Firefighter Gary Favro, who responded with other TFD members to the World Trade Center site, and Rabbi Robert Kasman of Tempel Beth El of Troy.

"We will remember those lost on that day, recognize those who responded and gave aid, and again note that America remains a shining beacon of hope and justice across the world," said County Executive McLaughlin.
