"This evening, Jewish families across Westchester County and around the world will gather to celebrate Rosh Hashanah and welcome the Jewish New Year. It is a time to come together with family and friends, reflect on the year that has passed and look ahead for the year to come. Rosh Hashanah also reminds us that a new year brings new opportunities. It is a chance to appreciate our blessings and think about how we can be more compassionate and more present for those around us. Those are lessons that resonate with all of us, regardless of faith.
Westchester’s Jewish community has long helped shape the character of our County through its leadership, faith and commitment to helping others. We are grateful for those contributions and proud to celebrate alongside our neighbors as they begin the High Holy Days. To everyone celebrating, I wish you and your family a happy and peaceful New Year. Shanah Tovah Umetukah."
