“As the sun sets this evening, Jewish communities across Westchester will gather to begin the observance of Yom Kippur. As the Day of Atonement, it is one of the most sacred days in the Jewish faith and a time set aside for prayer, self-reflection and renewal. Yom Kippur encourages us to slow down and take an honest look at ourselves. It asks us to think about how we treat others, to acknowledge where we may have fallen short and to strive to do better in the year ahead.
They remind all of us of the importance of humility and taking responsibility for our actions. To all who are observing Yom Kippur, I extend my warmest wishes for a meaningful day of reflection, an easy fast and a year of peace and blessings. G’mar Chatimah Tovah."
